Last week, I watched Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. I was surprised because the main character, Todd, is played by Elijah Wood, who portrayed hobbit in "The Lord Of The Rings". It was pleasure to see him.
I've watched many TV shows, and discovered some preferences. "Sherlock(2010-2017)"is one of my favorites. Also "Atypical(2017-2021)"holds a special place for me. As you can tell from these two TV shows, I love unsocialized main character....sherlock is high-fucntioning sociopath who often puts his own friend in danger. And sam was diagnosed with autism, struggling to become a socialized adult. But it's their imperfections that define them. Even though they are not social butterflies, people love them (not everybody).
In that points, Dirk Gently aligns well with my taste, but some words are difficult to understand. I don't even use the word 'holistic' in korean. And even some characters don't talk; they just mumble or speaks like an animal, or are hard to understand because of their rapsy voices. Nonetheless, I'm enjoying the situation of barely following storylines. When I start to comprehending the whole story without subtitles, It will be priceless.
